Room 7 Week 1 Term 2 2015

Kia Ora Whanau! Welcome to Term 2 of 2015!

This week the amazing Room 7 have done a lot of research into the Dawn Ceremony for ANZAC Day. We looked at what happens, who goes and takes part, what people do and why they do it. We made our own wreath to present at our ANZAC service on Friday.

We made flowers.

Red poppies!

Orange flowers!

Yellow flowers!

Black flowers!

Rainbow flowers!

And leaves!

And we made a beautiful wreath with 'Lest We Forget' to help us to remember the soldiers who fought and died and were wounded in the Wars.

We voted for two people to place our wreath on the  Memorial.
We chose Livi and Dazurel!

On Friday morning we all went into the hall to have the ANZAC ceremony. It was very special. We had to stand up for a very long time. We had to sing the National Anthem and then be very quiet for speeches and prayers. Then all the classes placed their wreaths on the Memorial. It was very sad and some people cried.

We are very proud of our ANZAC soldiers and all the learning we have done to find out about them.
