Week 9 Term 1 2013 - More Chicanes and speed humps!

Great work happening in Room 6 this week, as always.

We are going to construct a model chicane and speed hump and we have used our laptops to find out what colours, shapes, lines and other items need to go on them.

Here are the Room 6 students working hard on researching this information.

Week 8 Term 1 2013 - Chicanes and Speed Bumps!

What an interesting week we have had in Room 6!

We have been investigating the calming treatments for traffic that use chicanes and speed bumps.
Here is what we had to say about them.

Keleni "Our speed bump is black and yellow and it goes across the road. the cars have to slow down to go up and down."

Sebastian "Our speed hump slows the cars when they go over the bump in the middle."

Lizzie "The white lines are so the drivers can see it."

Lina "It slows cars down a little bit. It's a small bump because this is easy for the cars to go over. A big one might flip the cars."

Week 7 Term 1 2000 and Extreme!

Week 7 has been very exciting and busy for Room 6!

We have been doing lots of reading, maths, writing and inquiry.
Here are the room 6 students hard at work in class.

As well as all our usual work we have been continuing with our coaching for Kiwikick with Brendon and Rebecca.
Here we are getting very excited about 'smushing the icecream into our dog's nose' and other handball moves.

We always love eating our yummy healthy fruit!

Week 6 Term 1 2013

Hi Everyone!

Room 6 has been so busy with learning to understand what we read, learning how to write a recount about the visit to the senior playground and learning what numbers go together to make ten, that we have no photos this week.

We also did Kiwi Kick on the field and learned how to do a drop punt. We were very lucky to be working with two coaches who are teaching us.

Our Principal's award winner this week is Vanessa, who has shown very good understanding of what she reads. Well done Vanessa!
