Room 7 Week 11 Term 2 2015

Kia Ora Whanau!

Well, it is the last week of term and Room 7 are still working hard at their inquiry and other learning.

On Tuesday it was the Fun Run! A big THANKYOU to everyone who made such a great effort in getting sponsors and collecting the donations! We have raised a very large amount of money to pay for our Fitness Trail - the total will be announced at the end of the week.

A great time was had by all on the day! 

We loved having Kiwi Kidney start our races and watch us cross the finish line!

It was a long way for us to keep running but we kept on trying all the way! Well done Room 7!

And on Friday we had a lovely final assembly for the term lead by the teachers and it was a farewell for Ms Hanline. We gave her a fabulous trail bike!

Room 7 got to sit on the stage with Levi the Bear and help to lead the School Haka! Good on you Room 7!

Room 7 Week 10 Term 2 2015

Kia Ora Whanau!

What an exciting week it has been in Room 7!

First we had a fabulous football tournament with Room 6 and Room 8. Coach Dan mixed us up into lots of teams and then we played heaps of games against each other. After 5 minutes Coach Dan would blow the whistle and we would move to the next soccer field to play the next team. It was a lot of fun!

On Tuesday we had a special visitor. His name is Mr Gordon Edwards and he will be the new teacher in Room 7 after the holidays and for the rest of the year. I am retiring from full time teaching and taking up relief teaching instead. I have very much enjoyed my time with the students in Room 7 but I am now ready for a change of life style.  I know Mr Edwards will be a great addition to Sylvia Park School and fit in very well with the students in Room 7.

Mr Edwards did fitness training with us and helped us with push ups, sit ups, running and the obstacle course on the playground.

Thank you to all parents and caregivers who have sent back their forms for 3-way conferences. The times will be allocated later this week and next week so there is still time to send in your request for a time. The day for these is Thursday the 2nd July and all students will be going home at 12:30 on that day. I look forward to seeing you all then.

Kia Ora Whanau! 

This week Room 7 have been very busy with completing their inquiry work. We have been continuing our training to be fit and healthy and we have been eating our fresh fruit too.

We did lots of great training with Coach Dan and are getting better and better at controlling the ball in football!

Well done Room 7!

Room 7 Week 8 part 2 Term 2 2015

Nicole gave us some booklets to help us learn and so we could show what we remembered from our lessons in the caravan.

We really like working with them! We know a lot about our bodies and food and being healthy and fit!

What a great week for meeting some special people!

This week Room 7 got to meet Nicole and her friend Harold. They welcomed us into the Life Education caravan and taught us about what our bodies need to stay fit and healthy. We also learned about different kinds of food and where it comes from.

We watched what Harold saw through his telescope. It was an Alien who wanted to know about Earth and people and food.

We wonder what Harold will teach us next week!
