Room 7 Week 6 Part 2 Term 2 2015

Part two of Week 6 - What a busy week!

Last week we began our art lessons with Whaea Dagmar. This week we continued with them.

But - first there was a fire alarm and we had to go out to the field until the all clear!
 - then we had to do our art in Room 22 with the fire alarm still going because it couldn't be turned off!
We were very proud of how we managed to concentrate and learn, even with all the 'racket'!

Then we got to work on our bodies in our own class for the rest of the week. We have been drawing patterns, fruit and vegetables, and adding colour with crayons and dye. They look great!

One more very exciting thing that happened this week is that Nessie went to Mangere to do a special Samoan dance! Nice one Nessie!

Room 7 Week 6 Term 2 2015

Talofa Lava Everyone! Welcome to Samoan Language Week!

We have learned a lot about eating healthy food to help make us fit. We read a book called 'Fun Food to Make and Eat' and then we made our own fun food faces.
Ms H got all the ingredients and equipment and Rachael helped us to make them.
We started with a rice cake and put hummus on top of it. Then we put on a peach slice for a mouth, a grape for a nose and two raisins for eyes. Next we chose alfalfa sprouts or grated carrot for hair.
They looked amazing and tasted really good! Yum! Yum! Yum!

We have been doing lots of fitness training, especially with Coach Dan. We did jumping exercises and used our ball skills to play soccer and score goals!

We also did our own exercises - push ups, sit ups and running around the court.

Well done Room 7!

Room 7 Week 5 Term 2 2015

Kia Ora Whanau!

Room 7 keeps getting better and better at Football with Coach Dan!
This week we had to do our training in the hall because it was too wet outside. We were doing lots of practicing with controlling the ball.

We also got to work with
Whaea Dagmar to begin creating our own art work that is as big as ourselves! We talked about what goes into our bodies to make them fit and healthy. We started to doodle shapes and patterns that we will use to make our art work look interesting.

And very very good news this week for Room 7! We won the Junior Sports Trophy for the week!

Well done Room 7!
