Room 7 is learning about 'Better citizens for today and tomorrow!' We are learning how to be good citizens. Our question is 'What can I do that helps me and helps you?'
We had a special visitor come to speak to Pohutukawa Syndicate this week. His name is Jim Filiva'a. He is studying at the University of Auckland and he does volunteer work for the Edmund Rice Camps in Auckland.
Jim was teaching us how to be a good citizen and what he does to be a good citizen. Jim said that when someone was hurt he would help them.

Jim was interesting. When Jim started being a good citizen was when he was 5. When someone fell down he helped him get up.

Jim, we all hope you liked our haka.

Jim told us to be a good citizen and help lots of people and be careful. He said we are all good citizens.

We thanked Jim with our School Haka.
This was our first week to do Get Set Go with Mitch. It was raining so we went in the hall. He showed us how to do balancing. It was fun!
Mitch was teaching us how to balance on one arm and one leg. He even taught us how to play a balance game.

Mitch helped us balancing with one leg and on our bottom.

Thank you Mitch for helping us balance on one leg and on our bottom. Thank you for teaching us how to play your game. I liked being the frog and catching the flies.

All of Room 7 were balancing with Mitch and we hope you get to do it too. When we were with Mitch we all balanced on our tummy, bottom and one arm and one leg.

Thank you for your blog. We liked balancing with Mitch too. We just tried to balance all that ways that you did. Balancing on your tummy was tricky.
